Decks and Porches
Decks and porches are where most people first experience the difference between a builder and a craftsman. We build timber-framed porches with exposed trusses, cedar decks with hidden fasteners, and covered entries that turn a front door into a statement.
Every deck starts with proper footings — sonotubes below frost line, galvanized post bases, structural connections that won't fail in 20 years. We frame with pressure-treated lumber, deck with cedar or composite, and finish with railings that match the architecture of the house.
Remodels & Additions
Custom Woodwork & Tile
This is where Wood Duck is unlike any other contractor in the valley. We make ceramic tile by hand. We build custom trim, built-ins, and cabinetry. We do finish work that most crews subcontract out — because for us, the finish work is the point.
If you want a kitchen backsplash made from handmade tile, a custom cedar mantel, or built-in shelving that looks like it grew out of the wall, that's what we do best.
We gut rooms to the studs and rebuild them better. Kitchens, bathrooms, whole-floor remodels, room additions. We handle the demolition, framing, plumbing coordination, electrical coordination, drywall, flooring, trim, and finish.
Remodels are where the fine-art background pays off most visibly. An addition isn't just more square footage — it's a new composition that has to work with what's already there. We think about sightlines, material transitions, and how the new space feels when you walk into it.
Ground-Up Builds
New construction from foundation to finish. We've built homes from the ground up, managing every phase: foundation, framing, roofing, exterior, mechanical rough-ins, insulation, drywall, flooring, trim, and final finish.
A ground-up build with Wood Duck means the same two people who pour the footings are the ones installing the cabinet hardware. That continuity is rare, and it shows in the final product.
